Principal Consultants are senior fee earners within the practice who are now honing their strategic contribution and likely preparing for Partner status within the business.  Whilst the role of Principal Consultant will likely be a specialist within Leadership Consulting, Interim Leadership or Executive Search, the position is expected to start developing an understanding of the full suite of client solutions and how they best benefit clients and candidates.  

What you'll do:

♦ Manage and where possible oversee the effective delivery of assignments, ensuring that Project Co-ordinators, researchers & consultants are having the opportunity to continually develop.

♦ Role model a consulting approach, taking time to understand client needs and requirements, above and beyond any one GS solution.

♦ Share insight to client challenges and priorities with others across GS to ensure the most appropriate colleagues are involved in maximising the account.

♦ Proactively generate and convert business leads for yourself and other colleagues, using existing GatenbySanderson’s client relationships and through the development of new relationships and networks.

♦ Balance multiple assignments with grace, poise and infectious ambition for ‘outstanding’ quality and experience.

♦ Demonstrate when to say no and identify roles which limit GS contribution and commercial return.

♦ Experiment with pricing points and solution bundles to increase average GP per client & demonstrate the broader value of the GS proposition

♦ Conduct win/loss analysis to inform future pricing and product work/learning requirements.

Skills you'll bring:

♦ Ability to think creatively and use initiative in order to identify business development opportunities, conduct search, and develop professional knowledge and skill base.

♦ Can assimilate complex briefs, undertake detailed and relevant market research and propose appropriate courses of action.

♦ Ability to assimilate information from various sources and present it in a concise, structured manner

♦ Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with clarity and confidence with a range of different audiences

♦ Ability to engage and interact effectively with clients, candidates and colleagues

♦ Can create and contribute to a corporate ethos that puts client service delivery foremost.
